It can be difficult to know when is the right time to take that next step in a relationship. If you’re in a foreign country it can be even more daunting. We asked some Thais what their thoughts were on the subject.
Our first couple says before even beginning a relationship it’s important to make sure you get along. If you are calling, and chatting with one another and learning about each other and you feel good about it that would be a good indication that it’s time to go further. But definitely getting along first is important.
Our second respondent, older and more experienced, says that everyone should look for a committed relationship after they graduate from college. It’s a good time because it’s when people really start learning about and living their life. At this stage they will be more mature and make better decisions and be more serious about their lives. They won’t be looking for just random attractive people, but will be looking for a future spouse candidate.
First, I have to see if I can get along with him..
..appearance is one factor,…
..but as we start to call and chat, learn about each other and feel good about each other..
.. that would be a good sign to take it further.
It is important that we get along in the first place.
I think it’s about how we talk, I like a girl who speaks and responds wisely.
Generally, I think everyone should look for a committed relationship after they graduate from college.
I think it’s a good time, it’s a time for people to really start living their life, learning about life.
As they are learning and working they will develop…
…their maturity, to make better decisions and be more serious about their lives.
People in that age will have a chance to completely take control of their lives, choose and make decision.
Being more serious makes them think more carefully and tends to lead to less mistakes.
They’ll not just be looking for random pretty girls, but they will look for a future wife candidate.
Which normally leads to better decision making.
